PASADENA, Calif. (AP) - For his new show called Hack, David Morse has the experience to play an ex-cop who now drives a cab.
No, he's never been a cop.
But, the 48-year-old actor has been a cabdriver one summer in Boston.
And, he has some wild stories about his days behind the wheel.
"I got chased by a carload of guys who were trying to rob me," Morse told reporters. "It was literally a high-speed chase through the worst part of the city.
"I had to do one of those sliding-across-the-intersection-and-lose-them kind of things."
Morse's new show, Hack, debuts Friday night on CBS. He plays a fired policeman who finds a new road to justice as a cabbie. Andre Braugher co-stars.
Morse is best known for his role as Dr. Jack "Boomer" Morrison in the 1980s drama St. Elsewhere. Since then, he has appeared in a number of movies, including The Green Mile and Contact.
Morse said he's glad to settle down in Philadelphia after all the traveling.
'It's really tough on a family," he said.
