'Hack' will be back
Good news, Hack fans.
CBS yesterday extended its lease on the filmed-in-Philadelphia drama about a disgraced cop-turned-cabdriver, ordering up nine more episodes of the series.
That brings the series' total order to 22, ensuring that we'll be seeing the Hack cast and crew all over town through April, at least.
Hack (9 p.m. Fridays, Channel 3), which stars local actor David Morse as cabdriver - and reluctant Good Samaritan - Mike Olshansky, is the first network drama ever to be filmed entirely on location in Philadelphia, an undertaking one executive producer has estimates costs of an extra $400,000 an episode. Days before its Sept. 27 premiere, it underwent a shakeup behind the scenes as Robert Singer was brought in to replace executive producers David Shore and Thom- mas Carter.
Currently averaging 11.03 million viewers a week, down from the 12.89 million who saw its debut, the show is nevertheless, according to CBS, its highest-rated Friday series since the first season of CSI.
