Had the opportunity to see Hearts in Atlantis, on Saturday, September 29, 2001, and it's a wonderful film. David's part is brief, but extremely well done.
As this review said in the Detroit Free Press, "The only quibble you might have with "Hearts in Atlantis" is that David Morse is seen only in the wraparounds. He's one of the great underused actors in film, and he makes the point again, if all too briefly, here.

Hearts in Atlantis was released wide on September 28, 2001 in the US. In its' first weekend, it placed 3rd with $9 Million, behind Zoolander, with $15.5 Million and Don't Say A Word, with $16.7 Million. With the good word-of-mouth, however, I think we can expect this movie to stick around, for a while.
Check out the reviews of the film on the Rotten Tomatoes web site.

Good for a little chuckle during these trying times. I especially enjoyed the last image in Series 2. A little subtle humor.
